The General Post Office
The General Post Office on Bridge Street in the city’s capital of Castries, the nucleus of Saint Lucia Postal Service’s mail operations, recently received a well overdue facelift, much to the satisfaction of staff and customers. This building was erected after the Castries fire of 1948 and has since then been home to the General Post Office and in more recent years the Caribbean Postal Union Secretariat and the Universal Postal Union Regional Coordinator. Recent refurbishments included the installation of glass entrance doors, freshly painted walls and the all–important ramp, giving easier access to wheel chair users, parents with strollers and others carrying bulk mail on wheeled devices. Renovation has not been limited to the exterior as extensive work has been carried out within including the installation of customer friendly counters and signage.
This facelift is just one of the measures aimed at modernizing the Saint Lucia Postal Service as we work assiduously to improve our delivery network and quality of service. We believe we are well on our way to providing a top quality service in an environment conducive to business development.
